So, this is my monogram. Of the two I did, this is the slightly more modern looking one. I like it, though I'm not completely satisfied with it. I used a base font from dafont.com, called enrealhorns for this.

With the coloring I attempted to represent shine on the top letter (representing my first name) and one of the two bottom letters (my second middle name) the reason I did this to the right bottom one is because the shine effect is angled to the top right so it flows more accurately.

I also put a gradient on the top and bottom left letters to give them a linking effect, like the top and right. I decided to keep the central letter plain to visually separate it/make it different from the others.

The positioning of the top "A" representing my first name is supposed to signal significance. The positioning of the "G" and "B" (representing my middle names) is left to right and on the same line, as things are read in the English language. This shows that they are off equal importance but the "G" does come first.

Finally I used a smaller "A" to represent the sir name as opposed to a larger one, in an attempt to make it significant in a different way, I decided to keep it central though, so's to pull everything together. I also attempted to make it appear linked behind the "G", in front of the "A" and indeterminable with the "B, as it would appear to be placing certain significances if it wasn't ultimately balanced. I think this connects it and draws it together quite well.

And the shadow is just for fun... or if you want a real reason... um... let's see, I feel it gives the appearance of a structure more so, giving the sense of a clearly defined hierarchy in a physical sense, what to do with the positioning and all.

Blah, that's all I can think of.

Oh yeah, and I just like red and black, looks strong and such.

That thing we was talkin' 'bout 'n' stuff

So all i can give on this is my personal opinion. In regards to violent video games and the question are they effecting our youth and desensitizing our population?

Well my first though is what are your kids doing playing violent video games? Young children are in a very impressionable state. You shouldn't buy anything for a child if it isn't appropriate, video games are no different then movies. And if you aren't sure then play it yourself first or read a review, get into the culture instead of poo, pooing it from the sidelines. I'm not saying become obsessed or even to like it, but there is nothing wrong with a healthy understanding.

I do understand that there are ways that kids can get violent video games other then their parents, but this is true with many things in life. This just means that it is important to get a huge dose of reality too. It wouldn't be healthy for a child to only study and not play or live life ether, yes that is a very different scenario but the principal is the same, it's about balance and moderation.

In regards to desensitizing our population, it's the same you need reality, even if it's just to appreciate the unreal. If you can draw the line between real and not then you should be fine, if not then just be aware of that aspect of yourself, moderate it and pay attention if it is effecting your life in a negative way then be more cautious, but this doesn't mean that everyone is the same and that they should do what you do.

Hope that makes sense. ^_^
